Russia introduces mandatory business call labelling 1 September
From 1 September 2025, calls from Russian business numbers must be labelled with the company name and call category visible to the recipient.
From 1 September 2025, mandatory labelling of calls from business numbers takes effect in Russia. Recipients will see the company or sole proprietor name and the call category – Bank, Marketing, Real estate, or Telecom.
The data will be transmitted by telecom operators under contracts with the calling businesses.
According to the government, the measure targets cyber fraud and allows subscribers to filter unwanted or potentially harmful calls more reliably.
