From 30 October 2025, deposit insurance cover for irrevocable deposits is increased from RUB 1.4 million to RUB 2.8 million.
An irrevocable deposit is a special form of deposit under which funds are fully locked for a fixed term (from three years) and cannot be withdrawn early.
The higher limit applies only to irrevocable rouble certificates with a term of three years or longer. Funds cannot be withdrawn before maturity, but the certificate can be assigned to another person.
Issuance and assignment are available offline only, through a bank branch; an online channel is not yet available.
Deposit insurance covers individuals as well as legal entities qualifying as micro-, small or medium-sized enterprises. Other companies are outside the deposit insurance system.
