Uralvagonzavod will move part of its railcar production staff to a four-day working week due to weaker civilian demand. The measure does not affect the state defence order and applies only to the civilian segment.

Employees have been offered retraining and reassignment to other lines. According to industry operators, August gondola output fell to zero against 369 units in June; tank-car prices dropped to RUB 5.1 million.

AvtoVAZ, KAMAZ, LiAZ and Cemros previously announced reduced schedules amid weaker demand for their products.
