Tax calculation for a deal
One and the same deal can be carried out in several ways, and the tax burden differs between them several times over. We calculate each option before signing, while the structure can still be changed.
What is included
- A review of the intended deal structure and its consequences for each tax
- Alternative structures, with the burden calculated for each
- A comparison of the options by a single set of criteria, including restrictions and the approvals required
- A recommendation on the structure to choose, backed by the calculation
- A roadmap with stages, deadlines, people responsible and checkpoints
The work begins with paid scoping, after which a fixed price is set for the main body of work.
Case studies
Choosing a tax status for a contract worth 2 billion roubles
The request
A contractor was preparing for a contract worth 2 billion roubles. The tax burden under the contract had not been calculated, and it was unclear whether it could be reduced by lawful means before performance began.
What we did
We calculated the burden for each payment. Then we calculated the same burden under various preferential statuses. For each option we described the procedure for obtaining the status, the time frame, the cost of entry and the grounds for losing it, including the thresholds for revenue and for accumulated profit.
The result
The company achieved a tax saving of 550 million roubles. The tax burden fell from 700 million to 150 million roubles.
VAT on transit supplies to Kazakhstan
The request
A company was setting up international supplies and did not understand how this affects value added tax or which documents confirm the reduced rate applied.
What we did
We analysed the flow of goods and money, determined the tax treatment for each link and the set of supporting documents, including the application on the import of goods.
The result
The client received an opinion under which the supplies can be made without a dispute with the tax authority over the rate, and a list of documents that is collected for each shipment in advance rather than in response to a request.
