Payment model for a platform
Before the platform starts accepting payments, it has to be decided who holds the money and at what moment, who issues the receipt to the customer and what document closes each payout. We design this chain in full and calculate how much the platform is left with from each transaction.
What is included
- The settlement chain from the customer’s payment to the payout to the contractor
- The method of fiscal receipting and the answer to who issues the receipt to the customer
- A mechanism for holding funds until the work done is confirmed
- Requirements for the contractors’ status and the procedure for checking it before each payout
- A set of closing documents for each type of contractor separately
- A comparison of the rates of acquirers and payout services, with the platform’s net income from one transaction calculated
- An integration plan for the chosen scheme
Case study
Payment model for a household services marketplace
The request
The client was launching an app in which the customer pays for the work and the contractors are self-employed persons and sole proprietors. The settlement scheme had not been put together – open questions remained at every step from payment to payout.
What we did
We designed the settlement chain from the customer’s payment to the payout to the contractor. We determined the method of fiscal receipting and the mechanism for holding funds, and assembled the set of closing documents. We compared the rates of acquirers and payout services and calculated the economics of one transaction for each option.
The result
The client received a scheme in which the customer’s receipt, the check of the contractor’s status and the acceptance certificates are generated automatically, together with an integration plan for it. The economics of a transaction are calculated to the rouble.
